Mt 22:1-14<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying, 2\u201cThe kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a marriage feast for his son, 3and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast; but they would not come. 4Again he sent other servants, saying, \u2018Tell those who are invited, Behold, I have made ready my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves are killed, and everything is ready; come to the marriage feast.\u2019 5But they made light of it and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, 6while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. 7The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. 8Then he said to his servants, \u2018The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy. 9Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.\u2019 10And those servants went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11\u201cBut when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment; 12and he said to him, \u2018Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?\u2019 And he was speechless. 13Then the king said to the attendants, \u2018Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.\u2019 14For many are called, but few are chosen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

25At that time Jesus declared, \u201cI thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; 26yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. 27All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A man had two sons; and he went to the first and said, \u2018Son, go and work in the vineyard today.\u2019 29And he answered, \u2018I will not\u2019; but afterward he repented and went. 30And he went to the second and said the same; and he answered, \u2018I go, sir,\u2019 but did not go. 31Which of the two did the will of his father?\u201d They said, \u201cThe first.\u201d Jesus said to them, \u201cTruly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the harlots believed him; and even when you saw it, you did not afterward repent and believe him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
